Looking for new internet marketing material? Trying to stay up to date on the latest trends and strategies?

Me, too!

I’ve always believed that an entrepreneur that doesn’t learn doesn’t earn.

Even if you just spend a few minutes every day reading marketing material, it creates a compound effect.

Those few minutes will turn into hours of education as time goes on.

Next, you know, your content, SEO, and other areas are all seeing improvements because you’ve spent the time to learn more about them.

To keep you on your toes, take a look through this hand-picked list of the best internet marketing blogs.

1. Neil Patel

Neil Patel

If you don’t know Neil Patel, are you really an internet marketer? He has been recognized by Barack Obama, and the United Nations and is a household name in the marketing community.

He writes daily content on everything from SEO to content marketing and PPC campaigns. Neil even has a great podcast that you can listen to while on the go to learn a thing or two.

His blog posts are always around 3,000 words, so they pack a punch. They’re actionable and include step-by-step instructions for everything he writes about.

2. Moz

Moz

You may know Moz because of their great site explorer tools, but have you read their blog before? Rand Fishkin and many other writers regularly publish insightful content on the Moz website.

Topics typically focus on SEO but also touch upon data, analytics, and other useful marketing fields. Articles are never basic, either. They always have a unique angle that you haven’t read before.

I’ve especially enjoyed their link-building and general SEO posts, so give them a read next time you’re looking for new material.

3. Backlinko

Backlinko

If there is one SEO blog that you need to read, it’s Backlinko. Brian Dean is a genius when it comes to mastering search engines. He teaches you everything that you need to know about ranking a website.

Have you heard of the Skyscraper Technique? Well, that was invented by Brian. And in case you’re out of the loop, the Skyscraper Technique is one of the most effective backlink building strategies.

That’s what I like about Backlinko. You’re not getting generic SEO content you’ve read a thousand times before. It’s fresh, unique, and shows you something that you never thought about before.

4. Search Engine Land

Search Engine Land

Search Engine Land and its two other sister websites, Marketing Land and MarTech Today, will give you all of the resources you need on modern marketing.

You’ll find articles on industry trends, technology news, and tactics on their websites. Look at the image above. Just from the navigation, you can see they have categories like:

5. FitSmallBusiness

FitSmallBusiness

I’ve had the pleasure of being featured on FitSmallBusiness in the past, and they just so happen to be one of my favorite business blogs.

FitSmallBusiness will teach you about a wide variety of topics. Unlike many other blogs that specialize in just internet marketing or SEO, they dive into real estate, human resources, finances, and more.

They even write up reviews for companies. Anything from marketing automation to software businesses are reviewed to give you an honest insight into their services. Use this to make better decisions when purchasing new products.

Another way FitSmallBusiness stands out is with buyer guides. These cover must-have items for the office, the best website building tools, and more.

6. Content Marketing Institute

Content Marketing Institute

If you want to learn how to drive traffic and generate leads through content, read Content Marketing Institute.

It’s as simple as that.

They are the leading blog for content marketing tips, guides, and trends. You can even sign up for a magazine subscription, get consulting, and attend their worldwide events.

If that wasn’t enough, Content Marketing Institute also has a podcast you can listen to. Tune in while you’re driving, exercising, or cooking to improve your content marketing skills.

Their resources page with whitepapers on how to get started with content creation, building blocks to success, checklists, and more. They truly set you up for success.

7. Convince and Convert

Convince and Convert

The Convince and Convert blog was founded in 2008 by Jay Baer. He has consulted more than 700 companies since 1993, so saying he’s an expert might be an understatement.

Their blog covers everything on digital marketing, social media, and optimizing the customer’s experience to — you guessed it, convert.

Sometimes you don’t necessarily need more traffic to your online business or website, but rather you need an increase in conversion rate. You keep the same traffic but generate more revenue.

That’s what you’ll learn to do by reading Convince and Convert. I know I have!

8. Social Media Examiner

Social Media Examiner

No blog has taught me more about social media marketing than Social Media Examiner. They have a fun and unique branding that you can’t forget and offer a very insightful podcast, too.

Social Media Examiner will teach you how to optimize Facebook ads, make the most out of Instagram, and get clients through Linkedin.

Their posts are very actionable and will leave you with the knowledge of how to improve your marketing on social media right after you finish.

They even hold a Facebook Ads Summit to teach you hands-on how to improve the ROI and success of your Facebook ads. It’s the largest gathering of Facebook experts, all in one room.

9. Hubspot blog

Hubspot blog

You may know Hubspot for its free certifications and awesome CRM software. But have you ever stopped by their blog yet?

Hubspot is a goldmine for tips and guides on inbound marketing, email, and sales. They even throw in content around motivational quotes, interview help, and more general topics.

This means that they offer a nice mix of blog posts that will kick your marketing up a notch and entertainment.

Hubspot actually has a few different blogs, all of them dedicated to a particular field. At the moment, they have a marketing, sales, and service blog.

I like this because it’s easier to find the exact kind of topics you’re looking for instead of having to browse through one big blog.

10. SEMRush

SEMRush blog

You’ve used the SEMRush site explorer tool before, right? Because if you haven’t, you’re not a true internet marketer.

I guess they have a pretty cool blog, too. It covers everything from SEO, SEM, and PPC to content marketing. Everything you need to know to drive traffic and sales is at your fingertips.

You can even become a contributor to the blog yourself if you have writing skills.

If you want the tools to rank #1 on Google, try SEMrush while you’re at it.

11. Unbounce

Unbounce blog

Do you use landing pages to collect leads or drive sales? Then you need to head over to Unbounce right now.

Unbounce focuses on two things. Landing pages and conversion rate optimization. If those are important to you, their blog posts will be priceless.

You’ll find case studies on landing pages that you can learn from. For example, a recent one shows how a Shopify store generated 33x more sales with an optimized landing page.

Unbounce also offers a landing page service themselves. They write blog posts on how to make your pages GDPR compliant and what you can do to improve ROI.

12. Matthew Woodward

Matthew Woodward

The myth, the man, the legend. Matthew Woodward.

I still remember reading his blog back in 2012 when I was first getting into internet marketing. His guides were like nothing I had read before. Matthew was definitely a pioneer in using long form content.

That’s where his blog really stands out, in my opinion. While he has great articles on copywriting, SEO, and everything internet marketing, his software guides are outstanding.

For example, his guide to Scrapebox helped me understand how to use it for finding guest posting opportunities, keyword research, and analyzing competitors.

Matthew doesn’t just skim the top of a topic. He goes extremely in-depth, and you end up learning a ton of stuff you didn’t even know you needed to know.

He releases monthly income reports that detail how much consulting and affiliate marketing earn him. I think that transparency is nice and it’s also motivating.

13. Shopify Blog

Shopify blog

If you use Shopify or own an e-commerce store in general, you’ll love the official Shopify blog.

It covers everything you need to know about retail marketing, e-commerce, and enterprise topics.

I like that they also write about things like how to boost your morning productivity. It’s not all about just improving your business but also yourself as an entrepreneur.

Outside of the blog, Shopify has a huge amount of resources you can use. Their success stories serve as great inspiration, and you can learn a thing or two from these store owners.

Their guides, videos, and podcasts will make you an e-commerce wizard, as well. The Shopify forum is a great place to ask questions and tune into discussions related to selling online.

14. BigCommerce

BigCommerce blog

A highly underrated e-commerce blog. If you sell online, I’m confident you will learn how to generate more sales by reading BigCommerce blog posts.

They have many different writers who provide unique perspectives and insight from different angles. Expect to find e-commerce strategies, tips, and trends when browsing their blog.

BigCommerce also includes inspirational posts and business news to give you a well-rounded choice of topics. You’ll find the occasional case study that goes over how brands increased their sales and success to replicate yourself.
